







Job Title: School Nurse
Location: Happyland Senior School, Kiserian
Reports To: Principal/School Administrator
Job Summary:
The School Nurse is responsible for promoting and maintaining the health and well-being of students and staff at Happyland. This role involves providing first aid, managing student health records, offering health education, and ensuring compliance with health regulations. The School Nurse plays a critical role in fostering a healthy learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1) Student Health Care:
Provide first aid and emergency medical care to students and staff.
Administer prescribed medications as per school policies and parental/guardian authorization.
Identify and manage common illnesses and refer serious cases to medical professionals.
2) Health Records Management:
Maintain and update student medical records, ensuring confidentiality.
Prepare health reports for school administration as needed.
3) Preventive Health & Safety:
Ensure the school environment meets health and safety standards.
Collaborate with school administration to develop and implement health policies.
Conduct health screenings and coordinate medical check-ups.
4) Collaboration & Communication:
Work closely with teachers, counselors, and parents to address student health concerns.
Liaise with healthcare providers and public health officials for referrals and community health initiatives.
Provide guidance on infection control measures, including COVID-19 protocols.
Qualifications & Experience:
Diploma or Degree in Nursing from a recognized institution.
Valid nursing license from the relevant regulatory body.
Certification in First Aid and CPR.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a school or pediatric healthcare setting.
Knowledge of the CBC curriculum and its impact on student well-being is an added advantage.
Preferably a lady of 35 yrs and above

Organizational skills and ability to maintain detailed health records.
